The Fauxling Field Guide
Three species charted so far, all of them firmly ground-bound. Flying and swimming Fauxlings exist — somewhere — but nobody’s caught one long enough to draw it yet.
No. 001 · Tuftling
Inspired by the cotton-top tamarin. Small, loud, and extremely pleased with itself — the white crest goes up when it’s excited, which is always. Travels in noisy little groups and steals shiny things on principle.
No. 002 · Howler
Inspired by the Mexican wolf. Runs in small, fiercely loyal packs and takes its job — whatever it has decided that job is — very seriously. Excellent at guilds; terrible at being told no.
No. 003 · Stilt
Inspired by the giraffe, mercifully scaled down to something that fits through a cottage door. Still the tallest thing in any room. Mostly calm, mostly patient, and will absolutely watch you through the window.
